Todd and his wife, Fon, have been married for 14 years and together they have four children. Todd has been involved in politics since college and felt compelled to seek office in 2008 when he ran for State Representative. Todd has been heavily involved in the Lapeer County GOP and helping with the Freedom to Work coalition that led the Grassroots efforts in passing Right to Work this last December. In May of 2012, he was a part of the effort to elect Dave Agema and Terri Lynn Land to the Republican National Committee. In September Todd was overwhelmingly nominated for Michigan State Board of Education by the State Delegates of the Michigan.
In February of 2013 Todd ran for Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party. It had been more then four decades since someone had dared to challenge a sitting chairman, but with hundreds of grassroots supporters behind him and a overwhelming sense that the party needed to change direction Todd took the challenge. In a short five week campaign his message of strong leadership and a new strategic vision for the party rocked the convention and brought him within 3.8% of beating a incumbent while being outspent more than 14 to 1. All of this happened while every Michigan legislator including the governor lined up behind his opponent. While ultimately unsuccessful, Todd came away from that experience with a passion to change the party, to make it stronger and more Conservative. Todd believes this is essential for the Republican Party, and the country to survive. In order to accomplish this Todd is working with grassroots activists from across the state to build a network and organization that will advocate for conservatism and leadership that will fight for a STRONGER Republican Party. Please check out the STRONGER page for the ways the Republican Party can be stronger, head over to the DONATE page to partner with Todd and VOLUNTEER to get in the trenches and fight.
